CMS Sites

In most cases we will recommed the use of a simple Content Mangement System (CMS)* which will allow you to edit and maintain your own web site, ensuring rapid response to your changing circumstances and new offers.

Even if your site is simply your online "Calling Card" there are always benefits to be gained by having direct access to your own web content, even if it's only about being in control.

Q: Can I do that without programming knowledge or skills ?

A: Sounds too good to be true, but it is a realistic proposition.

  • Using a simple CMS you can maintain and develop your own site in the same way that you write your letters or organise your invoices. You can format text, check spelling, create links, and add tables, images or even multimedia content just as you would in your offline work. And, you won't need a complicated MySQL database or the knowledge of a PHP programmer.

In fact, once your site's installed, set up, and running;

you won't need us, or any other "web guru" !

Sad but true !

Q: Will I save money ?

With a CMS site you'll definitely save money, but more importantly you'll gain FREEDOM. The freedom to react rapidly to the latest developements in your business; the freedom to publish your news almost as it happens. Now that's useful.

What happens if something goes wrong ?

If you need additional help we're readily available, and our aim will be, as ever, to help you solve your problems as quickly as possible while at the same time showing you how you can help yourself in the future.

Your independence is our aim !

So what would a simple CMS based site cost ?

But what if my needs are more complex ?

No problem ! There are many Open Source (= FREE) Content Mangements Systems available. However, free and available are not the only criteria to be considered. There are some extremeley capable, free systems out there (for which we have the greatest respect), but which are so unfriendly to use that very often maintaining the web site becomes an unpleasant chore, requires specialist skill, or at worst simply doesn't get done.

For combining an industry standard format with huge modular expandabilty (i.e. your site can grow as your business grows), and an extremely user-friendly interface with superb support possibilities, we recommend Joomla the world’ s most popular open source CMS.

With 2.7 percent of the Web running on Joomla, the software is used by individuals, small & medium-sized businesses, and large organizations worldwide to easily create & build a variety of websites & web-enabled applications.

And it's free !

You'll need to have a hosting account which offers a MySQL database facility and (preferably) PHP 5 functions. After that it still needs to be installed on your web space, a layout created and the presentation set up. And before publication you need the vital elements like back-up, security, and extra security etc. etc. Despite this seemingly daunting list, if your business needs it Joomla can be very rewarding and very reliable.

Unfortunately, there are too many variables involved in with a Joomla installation to be able to offer this service at a fixed price. Each Joomla installation is like having a made-to-measure suit, and as we're not all the same size and shape, prices vary.
